What you need to do
Take action now: move your money out of Zing
You can transfer your money to a non-Zing account, withdraw it at an ATM (daily limits apply) or make card payments with your remaining balance until 22nd May 2025 at 12.00 pm (midday) BST. You won’t be charged for converting currencies held in your other wallets to GBP.
Take action now: close your account
Once you’ve emptied your account, you can close it yourself before 22nd May. Once you’ve closed your account, you can’t reopen it or open a new one.
Key dates for the Zing app
Before 2nd April 2025 at 12:00 pm BST
You can still add money, convert currencies, transfer money, make card payments or withdraw money at ATMs.
From 2nd April 2025 at 12:00 pm BST – No money can enter your account
You won’t be able to top up or receive inbound payments. Auto top-ups will be turned off from this date. Any inbound payments or top-ups will be automatically rejected and returned to the sender.
You should make other arrangements to manage any payments that depend on auto top-ups.
From 22nd May 2025 at 12:00 pm BST – Zing closes
You will no longer be able to access the app. You can close your account yourself before 22nd May 2025.

Can I still open an account?
We are no longer accepting new members. You can no longer create an account through the Zing app.
How do I close my account?
You can close your account yourself before 22nd May 2025. Once you’ve closed your account, you can’t reopen it or open a new one.
I’m a Zing member. What does this closure mean for me now?
There are no changes to your Zing account until 2nd Apr. Read the changes above for what you can do in the app until when. Your money remains safeguarded.
How do I take my money out of Zing?
You can transfer your money to another account, withdraw it at an ATM (daily limits apply) or make card payments with your remaining balance. You won’t be charged for converting currencies held in your other wallets to GBP.
What happens if I don’t take my money out when Zing closes?
Please don’t leave any money in your Zing account after 22nd May 2025 at 12.00pm (midday) BST. We’ll convert any foreign currency left in your account into GBP at Zing’s latest exchange rate at the time of conversion (shortly after 22nd May).
If you’ve left money in your account, we’ll let you know how you can get it back after account closure nearer the time. This process will be less convenient for you so please don’t rely on this to get your money back.
My account is under review. What can I do?
If you can’t access your Zing account or take action because your account or transaction(s) are under review by Zing, please know we’re working as fast as possible to complete these reviews. We appreciate your patience and support with any enquiries we may have. If you have any questions, please contact the ZingCare team.
