Send money to Pakistan image

More than 1.6 million people of Pakistani origin live in the UK, with many of those expats sending money to friends, family and businesses in Pakistan on a regular basis.

That’s why easy, reliable and secure money transfer services are so important. And now Zing gives you a convenient, great value way to send money to Pakistan.

Read on to discover the top tips to consider before you send your money.

Check the exchange rate and fees first:

If you’re making big transfers on an irregular or one-off basis, you’ll want to keep an eye on the exchange rate between the Great British Pound (GBP) and the Pakistani Rupee (PKR).

Timing is everything as, like with all currencies, the exchange rate can fluctuate daily. Choosing the right time will help maximise the value of the money you send to Pakistan.

Our currency calculator makes it easy to check real-time and transparent currency conversion rates. We let you know upfront how much money your payee will get and how much it will cost you to send. Any fees are clearly displayed – so you know all the costs before sending your money to Pakistan.

Pick your transfer method:

Using Zing will get your payments to friends, family and businesses in Pakistan securely, with payment tracking and 24/7 customer support from real people.

Zing makes international payments worry-free. But there are some other transfer methods you may also want to consider.

Bank transfers

Using your bank to send money to Pakistan might seem like the obvious and easiest choice, but it probably won’t give you the best conversion rate – and will come with transfer fees attached. It’s also likely to take longer to arrive – sometimes a few days.

But you may save on fees if your UK bank has Pakistani ownership, and if you’re sending money to a Pakistani account held by the same bank.

To send a bank transfer to a bank account in Pakistan you’ll need the following payee details:

  • Bank name

  • Bank address

  • Payee name

  • Account number or IBAN – an IBAN identifies international bank accounts more accurately

  • SWIFT/BIC code – SWIFT and BIC codes identify the bank and country the payment is going to

  • National Clearing Code (NCC) – if you don’t have their IBAN

Physical cash transfer services

These days, sending money abroad can be done with a few taps on your phone. But if you prefer to speak to someone before sending your money, you can visit one of the physical cash transfer shops on the high street.

Here you can send money via your bank account, debit card or even in cash – though you will have to pay fees based on how much you’re sending and how fast you need the money to arrive.

The payee can then pick up their money from their local branch.

Online services

Some cash transfer services let the payee pick up their cash from a location, such as a bank, even if they don’t have a bank account.

A cash pickup is usually ready in minutes, so it’s a useful service if you need to send money fast. But this convenience comes at a cost, with lower exchange rates and high fees.

Some online services and apps give you the option to send money to a bank account, debit card and mobile wallet. Alway check the exchange rate and fees that you’ll need to pay first before deciding what’s the best method for you and your payee.
